Former politician, Oona King is widely known for her passions for diversity and inclusion. Formerly an MP for Bethnal Green & Bow, Oona has championed changes in legislation regarding gender pay gaps, women, education and internet safety. Currently Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Snap Inc, Oona is often booked as a female motivational speaker to share her passions for inclusion.

Oona has enjoyed countless roles with top organisations ensuring that the world becomes a more inclusive place. She has formerly been the Director of Diversity Strategy for Google, the Global Director of Diverse Marketing for YouTube and the Head of Diversity for Channel 4. During her time with Google, Oona was responsible for authoring both the 2018 and 2019 Diversity Annual Reports for Google, and in her time with Channel 4 she ensured that there was accountability for diversity across British broadcasting. She is also widely known for being the former Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Equalities– responsible for the negotiation of the 2010 Equality Act.

Oona is also widely remembered for her position as MP for Bethnal Green & Bow- a role in which she often spoke on the need to eradicate poverty and improve education. She has also been the Vice-Chair of the All-Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh and the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry. Oona has also been appointed Life Peer Baroness King of Bow, ranked on the Powerlist of the Most Influential People of African/ African-Caribbean Descent in the UK and named as one of the 100 Great Black Britons.

Pioneering the political sector as the second Black female to be elected to Parliament, Oona is now booked as a female motivational speaker to empower other women to follow in her political footsteps. Having continually championed diversity and inclusion, Oona is remembered for amendments that made large companies declare their pay gap and for preventing the government from penalising low-income families. Having also spearheaded the diversity and inclusion of major companies, Oona is a fantastic female motivational speaker who will bring to light the importance of being inclusive of all no matter their race, ethnicity or gender.

Most recently, Oona King was inducted into the Top Female Speakers to Book for International Women’s Day, celebrating her dedication to educating the community about diversity and inclusion.
