Known as the face of British cycling, Victoria Pendleton is a speaker who requires no introduction. From becoming one of the most successful British Olympians to opening the discussion surrounding mental health and the gender divide in sport, Victoria has inspired at every stage of her career. Currently a sought after keynote speaker, Victoria is booked to discuss her experiences at the forefront of international sports and to motivate other women to pave their own way to success, as she has done.
A multiple World Champion, Commonwealth Games Champion and European Champion, Victoria has achieved every medal the sport can offer as a track cyclist. Competing across sprint, team sprint and keirin Victoria won nine world titles, six of which were in the individual sprint, setting a record in the process. Before retiring from professional cycling in 2012, Victoria secured her place as a Team GB hero. Having previously won Gold at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Victoria repeated her achievement on home soil, winning Gold in the keirin and Silver in the sprint, making her one of the UK’s greatest ever female Olympians and a champion of cycling.
Since stepping off the bike, Victoria has taken up horse racing, placing second in her debut jockey race, a natural-born sportswoman. She has also published her autobiography and appeared across the media as an inspirational advocate for sports for all. In recognition of her achievements, Victoria was named Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year, and honoured with a CBE.
Despite being known for her hugely successful sporting career, Victoria has been open about the adversity she has faced to get to the top. Having suffered from severe depression following personal struggles and battling her entire career to overcome the prevalent sexism in cycling, Victoria is an inspiration to many, particularly women striving to reach goals. As a speaker, Victoria passionately empowers individuals through her position as a motivational female role model.
