Will I Ever Have Sex Again?

Sofie Hagen is an internationally acclaimed comedian, author, podcaster, and advocate for body positivity whose voice resonates far beyond the stage. Known for their fearless honesty and sharp wit, they are hired as a motivational speaker for their ability to challenge societal norms and spark meaningful conversations about self-acceptance, feminism, and mental health. Blending humour with deeply personal insight, they inspire audiences to embrace their authentic selves, reject harmful beauty standards, and cultivate confidence in a world that often seeks to diminish individuality. Sofie’s talks are engaging, thought-provoking, and delivered with a warmth that leaves listeners both entertained and empowered.

Sofie began their career in Denmark, gaining early recognition in 2012 after appearing on the national television show “Zulu Comedy Galla”. That same year, they reached the final of the Funny Women Awards and placed third in the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year competition. Their breakthrough came in 2013 when “Time Out” named them “One To Watch” and they went on to win the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year. By 2014, they had claimed the Chortle Best Newcomer Award, and in 2015 their debut Edinburgh Fringe hour, “Bubblewrap”, earned five-star reviews and the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. Alongside performing, they contributed to feminist writing and began building a reputation for speaking out on social issues.

In recent years, Sofie has expanded their creative work across multiple platforms. They have taken several acclaimed solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, published two books — “Happy Fat” in 2019 and “Will I Ever Have Sex Again?” in 2024 — and hosted popular podcasts, including “Made of Human”, “Bad People”, and “Secret Dinosaur Cult”. Their journalism, particularly on topics such as body acceptance and the harmful impacts of diet culture, has been widely discussed and debated. As a prominent voice in the fat acceptance movement, they have consistently used their platform to challenge damaging stereotypes and call for more inclusive narratives.

Organisations and events book Sofie as a speaker because they bring a rare combination of humour, activism, and lived experience. Their talks leave audiences questioning old assumptions, laughing at relatable truths, and feeling inspired to approach life with more compassion for themselves and others. Whether addressing a corporate audience, a feminist conference, or a creative festival, Sofie delivers an unforgettable blend of insight, vulnerability, and unapologetic authenticity.
