At 18, she earned a place on her first major expedition – a ten-week Arctic journey to Svalbard with the British Exploring Society. That life-changing experience cemented her path and lit a fire to pursue exploration as a career, despite the odds. Determined to break the mould, Lucy forged her own route through the world of professional adventure, becoming a role model for aspiring young explorers. By 23, she became a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the youngest ever elected Council Member of the Scientific Exploration Society, positioning her among the most respected names in the field.
In recent years, Lucy has pushed boundaries both physically and creatively. In 2024, she gained widespread acclaim as the presenter of Channel 4’s ‘Secret Amazon: Into the Wild’, a two-part documentary following her 50-day expedition through one of the most remote, uncharted parts of the Amazon rainforest. Her leadership on this journey and the film’s focus on friendship, danger, and environmental awareness earned her global recognition. She has completed over 30 expeditions worldwide, including a landmark crossing of Guyana’s Kanuku Mountains, and now serves as an ambassador for Ford UK, Rhino Ark, and the World Land Trust.
