Lisa’s journey into cyber security began following a robust academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Law from the University of Southampton and later a Master of Law focusing on Maritime Law, International Law, and the Law of Armed Conflict from the University of Bristol. She transitioned from legal studies into cyber crime, working as part of the cyber team at the South West Regional Cyber Crime Police Unit in 2016. There, she supported businesses targeted by cyber crime, helping them to recover quickly and strengthen their defences. This practical, hands-on work laid the foundation for her future ventures and deepened her commitment to helping organisations build long-term operational resilience.

In recent years, Lisa has taken on several influential roles that reflect her leadership and innovation in the industry. She co-founded Red Goat Cyber Security LLP in 2017, a company known for its cutting-edge cyber crisis simulations and awareness training. Her expertise and thought leadership have led her to serve on advisory boards, judge prestigious business awards, and co-found impactful initiatives like Cyber Volunteers 19 during the pandemic and Respect in Security to promote better ethics within the industry. In 2024, she was appointed Chair of the International Cyber Expo, a testament to her standing as a trusted authority in the field.
