Trans awareness advocate, Katie Neeves is booked as an inspirational female speaker to share her journey of coming out as transgender. Founder of Cool2BTrans, Katie has openly and honestly shared her experience of coming out, risking her reputation and livelihood as one of the UK’s leading photographers. Since coming out, Katie is frequently booked as a speaker to develop the inclusion of the LGBT community and covers topics such as my long walk to womanhood, what it’s like to be transgender and preventing trans discrimination at work.
After forging a successful career as a photographer under her male name, Martin Neeves Photography and Film, and as a staff photographer for the likes of the Coventry Telegraph and the Kentish Times, Katie came out as transgender. After living 48 years as a man, Katie accepted her true identity and risked all to become who she really was. Since coming out, Katie has advocated trans awareness and is currently an Associate Consultant for TMGB Innovations– specialising in organisational wellbeing, inclusive leadership, recognising bias and more.
Now booked as a speaker for events, Katie provides trans awareness training and is often seen appearing as an expert on ITV and the BBC. Covering trans issues with authority and sensitivity, Katie helps individuals through their transitioning journey and coming out to both family and workplaces. Helping organisations with diversity and inclusion awareness, Katie is a positive role model in the LGBT+ community and helps business owners to stand out from the crowd as diverse, inclusive and empowering employers.
Having formerly spoken for the likes of Aviva, Ofcom and Virgin Media, Katie is now a popular choice as a motivational female speaker for events. Spreading trans awareness, Katie empowers other men and women going through transitions and coming out with the message that it is ok to be trans.
