Jo Salter is famed for her former career as a member of the Royal Air Force, making headlines when she became the first female fast jet pilot of the Panavia Tornado. Now the Director of Global Transformative Leadership for PWC, Jo is also booked as a speaker for a range of corporate events. When she was just 18 years old, Jo joined the Royal Air Force and completed studies at the Royal Military College of Science. Excelling in the forces, Jo ultimately became a Flight Lieutenant of the 617 Squadron and the first female fast jet pilot. She has since led Air Cadets Air Experience Flights, inspiring future generations of RAF officers and pioneering a male-dominated sector. Today, Jo acts as a Trustee of The Royal Air Force Club and shares her expertise of leadership and teamwork built in the RAF in her corporate career.
Now working a successful corporate career, Jo is the Director of Global Transformative Leadership for PWC. Joining PWC as the Director of People & Organisations in 2015, Jo quickly worked her way up the ranks, also working roles such as Chief of Staff, Head of Technology & Investments and Director of Risk Technology Strategy. Other roles have included being an Associate Lecturer for the Open University Business School, Managing Director of Saltin Ltd, Head of Technical Services for NetConnect and European Operations Manager for Automated Power Exchange. In recognition of her decorated career, Jo was appointed MBE in 2022 for her Services to Aviation. She is also a best-selling author, having written the titles Energize: Spring Clean Your Mind and Body to Get Your Bounce Back Today and Every Day and Energy: 52 Ways to Fire Up Your Life and Become an Energy Angel.
Outside of work, Jo is an Ambassador for the Global Angels charity, dedicated to providing aid to communities across the globe in the form of clean water, healthcare, education and female empowerment.
