My Life With The Chimpanzees

The World’s foremost expert on chimpanzees, Dame Jane Goodall is a leading primatologist and anthropologist who studied chimpanzees in the Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania. Also the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, Jane is highly passionate about encouraging others to look after such species and the world around them. Jane is now booked as a female motivational speaker to share her passions for the environment.

Widely known for her studies of chimpanzees, Jane revolutionised the study of the animals- challenging the belief that chimpanzees were vegetarians and couldn’t construct or use tools. Naming the chimpanzees David Greybeard, Goliath, Mike, Humphrey, Gigi, Mr McGregor, Flo and Frodo, Jane lovingly studied the animals and documented their emotions of aggression and violence. She is also widely known for founding the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre and the Lake Tanganyika Reforestation and Education project.

Jane has also been a Patron of Voiceless, the Animal Protection Institute and Population Matters. She has also been named as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine and claimed awards such as the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement, the Benjamin Franklin Medal in Life Sciences, the Gandhi-King Award for Nonviolence and the Medal of Tanzania. Named as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, Jane has also authored books such as My Friends the Wild Chimpanzees, Seeds of Hope: Wisdom and Wonder from the World of Plants and Grub: The Bush Baby.

Named as an Honorary Member of the World Future Council, Jane is now booked as a female motivational speaker who empowers other women to follow in her science footsteps. Having passionately studied chimpanzees and made it her mission to see that the planet around us is conserved, Jane has previously delivered the TEDx talk What Separates Us From Chimpanzees? and is a seasoned speaker. Looked upon as a female role model in a male-dominated sector, Jane is passionate to see that female qualities are both accepted and respected and that women have equal opportunity to achieve in male-dominated sectors as men do. A fantastic speaker, Dame Jane Goodall is a great choice as a female motivational speaker.

Official Testimonials

Jane Goodall is regularly booked to engage audiences at events, read their latest feedback below:

“It was a treat to work with Jane Goodall and her associates. All the members of her team were friendly and professional and were immensely helpful in setting up the bookselling and signing space. Jane Goodall herself was a delight. She is an undemanding celebrity, who cheerfully gave greatly of herself during her time at Hanover College. Dr Goodall drew an audience of some 2500 people to the college, the largest convocation audience here in decades. Her talk was insightful and inspiring. After a Q&A period, Dr Goodall spent three hours signing books. She will not leave until everyone who wants a book signed for a photo has been satisfied. Dr Goodall’s visit truly was an event & something that will be remembered here for years”

Hanover College

“One word- phenomenal. We sold out of tickets (3000) almost two weeks in advance of Dr Goodall’s lecture. Our phones didn’t stop ringing for weeks. Her lecture and book signing were amazing and truly inspirational… In all sincerity, I would work with you, your staff and your agency again in a heartbeat”

Oakland University

“Everyone is still talking about how extraordinary it was to hear you and how much your work has changed our perceptions of our relationship to other beings. That you have lived your life so decidedly on your own terms- and in the process have given us so much new knowledge and understanding of our world- has been a wonderful inspiration. Your visit was a highlight of the year for all of us here!”

Barbara, Dean of Douglass College
