Helen Seymour is a powerful female motivational speaker whose story is a compelling testament to perseverance, self-belief, and the relentless pursuit of success through her journey to becoming the world’s first female Eurofighter Typhoon Pilot. One of Helen’s most inspiring chapters was flying alongside Nicola “Rosie” Steevenson as part of one of the only few all-female crews. Together they co-founded On A Mission, a platform through which they share their unique journey and inspire personal and professional development for leaders and teams.

With a BSc (Hons) in Medical Science from Queen Mary University of London, she shattered barriers by setting her sights on becoming a RAF pilot – a goal that seemed almost unreachable, especially after failing her initial aptitude test. Undeterred, she redoubled her efforts, passed on her second attempt. Her trailblazing career spanned over two decades, beginning as a front-line Tornado F3 pilot and later transitioning to the Typhoon in 2009. Her work directly contributed to air defence of the UK, the Falklands, and NATO operations. She was involved in the liberation of Libya and oversaw several important global exercises as Mission Commander. She is an A2 Qualified Flying Instructor and was a Course Mentor on the Typhoon Operational Conversion Unit. Her final RAF role was as an Evaluator Pilot on the Typhoon Test Squadron, and she was the Lead Pilot for the Typhoon Defensive Aids System before being discharged on medical grounds.

Recently earning a Level 3 Award in Effective Coaching from ILM, Helen brings both academic credibility and frontline experience to her speaking engagements. Now a training consultant with Inzpire, she uses her knowledge to shape the next generation of RAF war fighters. Sought-after inspirational speakers, Helen and co-founder Rosie have delivered impactful keynotes to Funding Xchange and, more recently, Network Rail. Helen was also named an RAFA Ambassador for the Women’s Wellbeing Network 2025 webinars. Her story isn’t just about flying jets – it’s about rising above doubt, proving naysayers wrong, and showing that no dream is too ambitious when powered by courage and determination.

“Who doesn’t want to interview the First Female Typhoon Pilot – a real-life Top Gun! I was SO excited to chat with Helen Seymour about what it’s really like in the cockpit, literally flying on the edge of your seat day-in, day-out, and being a woman in a very male-dominated field.
Helen is one of the most humble leading ladies I’ve ever met. She rose to the top through sheer determination, despite setbacks and while juggling family life.”
