Ellie Simmonds

Swimmer Ellie Simmonds is a 10 times World Champion, has broken the World Record for 400m Freestyle and the 200m Medley and is a five-time Olympic gold medallist. Having been the youngest member of the team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Ellie is a true role model and inspiration to other budding athletes. Now booked as a female motivational speaker, Ellie inspires other young women to pursue competitive sport and acts as a role model for women in sport.

Ellie competed in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games at age 13- the youngest British athlete at the games. Ellie left her mark competing in the 50m, 100m, 50m Butterfly, 200m Induvial Medley and the 400m Freestyle events. After claiming two Olympic golds, Ellie went on to represent England at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympic Games- claiming another three gold, one silver and two bronze Paralympic medals. Ellie has also made headlines in World Championships, claiming 10 gold, three silver and four bronze World Championships medals.

Other prominent wins include seven gold and two European Championship medals and a gold in the Paralympic World Cup. Highly respected for her talents, Ellie has also claimed the 2008 Young Sports Personality of the Year and been appointed both MBE and OBE for Services to Paralympic Sports. Her appointment of MBE made history, when aged just 14 she became the youngest person to be appointed the title. Ellie has also been awarded the Best British Sporting Performance for an Athlete with Disability from the Jaguar Academy of Sports Annuals Awards and had Royal Mail postboxes painted gold in her honour.

Outside of swimming, Ellie is a Patron of the Dwarf Sports Association and an Ambassador of The Scouts Association and WaterAid. She is also highly sought as a female motivational speaker, sharing her story of Paralympic success and her advocacy for women in sport. Having broken World Records and claimed countless World Championship titles, Ellie is proof that with drive, determination and hard work you can achieve success.
