Dani Rowe is a former British track and road cyclist and Olympic gold medallist who is widely recognised as an inspiring female motivational speaker. Known for her resilience, determination and record-breaking performances, Dani has become a powerful advocate for women striving to succeed in competitive environments. After retiring from professional cycling in 2018, she began sharing her story with organisations, conferences and leadership events, empowering audiences with insights into perseverance, confidence and the mindset required to reach the top. Her journey from a young cyclist to Olympic champion continues to inspire women and girls to pursue ambitious goals and challenge perceived limitations.
Dani’s passion for cycling began when she was just fifteen years old, quickly demonstrating the commitment and discipline required to progress in elite sport. Her talent led to selection for Great Britain’s team pursuit programme, where she trained and competed alongside some of the most successful cyclists in the world. Making her World Cup debut in Manchester, Dani soon became a key member of the British track cycling team and raced alongside Laura Kenny for much of her career. Her first breakthrough came when she secured a world title in the team pursuit at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Apeldoorn, alongside winning a European title in the same season. These achievements marked the beginning of a dominant period for the British women’s pursuit team and established Dani as one of the leading riders in the sport.
Throughout her career, Dani was part of one of the most successful teams in Olympic cycling history. At the London Olympic Games, the British women’s team pursuit squad produced a remarkable performance, winning gold while repeatedly breaking the world record during the competition. The team ultimately set their sixth consecutive world record in the Olympic final, creating one of the most iconic moments in British cycling. Dani continued to build on this success with further world and European titles, victories at UCI World Championships and Track Cycling World Cups, and strong performances at the Commonwealth Games and national championships. Her determination was especially evident after a serious crash left her hospitalised, yet she returned to competition just months later to win the Tour de Reservoir and continue competing at the highest level.
Today, Dani uses her experiences to champion female empowerment and resilience through motivational speaking. Alongside her work as a sports commentator and pundit for broadcasters including TNT Sports, she is the co-owner of Rowe & King, a professional cycling and coaching service dedicated to supporting riders and developing talent. She also mentors athletes through initiatives such as Le Blanq’s Joyride and serves as an EXALT ambassador. In 2024, Dani was inducted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame. As a female motivational speaker, Dani inspires audiences with honest insights into overcoming barriers, building confidence and thriving in high-performance environments. Her powerful story encourages women to believe in their abilities, embrace challenges and pursue success with determination and purpose.
