Charlotte Edwards is a former professional cricketer who made history during her career for women in the sport. Having captained the England team on more than 220 occasions, Charlotte is credited with leading the side during one of their most successful periods, a testament to her commitment and determination. Now retired, Charlotte remains a prominent figure in sports and a popular speaker on the circuit. As a speaker, Charlotte is known to inspire and motivate her audiences, particularly the female members in attendance, thanks to her incredible story of success and resilience in a male dominated industry.

Best known for brining female cricket to the forefront with her leadership, as captain of England’s women’s cricket, Charlotte won three Ashes and the World Cup/ Word Twenty20 double. Making her debut for the international side in 1996, Charlotte was only 17 years old, but made history by becoming the youngest player to ever represent England in the sport. Fast forward and in her 20 years playing for her country Charlotte also became the first woman to score 2,00 runs and the first player ever to score 2,500 runs in a T20 International. She was equally impressive in her club career, from which she retired in 2018 having represented the likes of Kent, East Anglia and Hampshire.

With such an incredible career and an unmatched record, Charlotte has been the recipient of many awards. Honoured by the Queen with a CBE in 2014 for Services to Cricket, Charlotte’s contributions to the sport have been recognised at the highest level and she has also been named the Wisden Cricket of the Year 2014, becoming only the second woman to have done so. Additionally, she has been named as the Cricketer of the Year by the ICC and ECB.

A sought after keynote speaker, Charlotte is hugely popular due to her recognisability and influence in sports and beyond. Empowering women to break the glass ceilings of their own sectors is a strong theme during Charlotte’s presentations, as she is supported by her personal story of doing the same. Equal parts inspiring and motivational, Charlotte is the ideal star to transform your audience and leave a long lasting positive impression.
