Charlie Webster is a TV and radio broadcaster who has forged a strong reputation for advocacy of domestic and sexual abuse awareness and mental health. Having become the first female presenter of boxing and Heavyweight World title fights, Charlie is a pioneering female presenter and has presented everything from football to broadcasts on social issues. Now booked as a female motivational speaker, Charlie is a role model as a female change-maker and encourages other women to speak out.
As a presenter for ITV, the BBC, Sky Sports and ESPN STAR Sport, Charlie has covered everything from boxing to motorsports. She is also the creator and producer of the Undiscussable podcast, in which domestic abuse is investigated. As a passionate advocate, Charlie has heavily worked on advocacy for domestic abuse awareness having influenced the Victim’s Strategy within Number 10 Downing Street and advised on the Domestic Abuse Bill. Having previously contracted Malaria, Charlie is also passionate to raise awareness of the illness and is also an Ambassador of Malaria No More.
Charlie is also an experienced journalist, having written for the likes of BBC Sport, Metro, The Telegraph, Huffington Post and The Independent. She is also the founder of Mindtalk, a mental health group that supports her advocacy for mental health and empowers future generations to talk openly about such issues. Charlie is also an Ambassador of Women’s Aid and advocates women’s rights- such as promoting that women deserve a voice in sports. In reward of her advocacy and charity work, Charlie has been honoured with the Parliament Fundraising Hero Award.
Now booked as a female motivational speaker, Charlie shares her own story of PTSD, mental health and trauma- encouraging other women to speak out about adversity. Having delivered the TEDx talk Why Rethinking PTSD Can Change Everything, Charlie is a seasoned speaker and has also spoken at the United Nations Foundation Nothing But Nets and Girls Up. She has also spoken for Inspiring Girls International and passionately shares her advocacy for domestic and sexual abuse awareness as a female change maker.
