Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon is a British-Nigerian social entrepreneur and computer scientist known for her pioneering work in promoting women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). As a dynamic motivational speaker, she advocates for diversity and inclusion across industries, with a particular focus on encouraging young women and non-binary individuals to pursue careers in STEM. Her inspiring talks at renowned international events, such as the Web Summit, SXSW, and the Women of the World Festival, have positioned her as a leading voice for change and empowerment in the tech world.

Anne-Marie’s journey to success began at a young age, with remarkable academic achievements. By 11, she became the youngest girl to pass A-level computing, showcasing her natural aptitude for the subject. She continued to impress, earning her undergraduate master’s degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Oxford at the age of 20. Following her academic success, she worked for major companies like Hewlett-Packard and Deutsche Bank, before realising her passion for supporting women in the tech industry. This led to the creation of Stemettes in 2013, a social enterprise aimed at promoting women and non-binary people in STEM fields. Stemettes has since impacted over 60,000 young people, helping to break barriers and build a more inclusive tech community.

In recent years, Anne-Marie’s influence has continued to grow. She was appointed President of the British Science Association for 2022-2023, further cementing her leadership in the science community. In addition, she launched her guidebook, She’s in CTRL, in 2022, which provides essential advice for women in tech. Anne-Marie’s achievements have earned her numerous honours, including an MBE and honorary doctorates from prestigious institutions such as Royal Holloway and the University of Bath. Her role as Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, appointed in 2024, reflects her continued dedication to shaping the future of education and innovation.

Anne-Marie Imafidon is frequently hired as a speaker because of her powerful ability to inspire, challenge, and motivate her audiences. Her personal experiences of overcoming obstacles in male-dominated industries, combined with her extensive expertise, make her an influential voice in the global conversation around diversity and innovation.
