Vicki Treadell is one of the UK’s most distinguished diplomats and an inspiring female motivational speaker, best known for breaking barriers as the first ethnic minority woman to become a British High Commissioner and the first woman to head the UK’s missions in Mumbai, Wellington and Kuala Lumpur. She later went on to serve as British High Commissioner to New Zealand and Samoa in 2010, strengthening bilateral ties and representing UK interests. At the same time, Vicki served as Governor of Pitcairn and was responsible for the governance of the UK’s overseas territory. She later led UK missions as British High Commissioner to Malaysia in 2014, deepening political, economic, and cultural partnerships. Her most recent role was a British High Commissioner to Australia in 2019 where she also served as Head of the UK’s Oceania Network, coordinating UK strategy across the wider Pacific region. For her impact and leadership, Vicki won the Public Sector Award at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards. She was also recognised with honours such as Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George and a membership of the Royal Victorian Order, showcasing her perseverance, cultural intelligence and trailblazing leadership.

Since retiring from full-time diplomatic service in 2025, Vicki has continued to expand her influence as a speaker, advisor, and advocate, using her global experience to inspire and empower others. As Ambassador for The HALO Trust, she supports humanitarian efforts to clear landmines and rebuild communities affected by conflict.
